Glass

● 6mm & 3mm clear, the amount will vary depending on the size of the project.

● Light colored opaque glass. In the example, white, almond, taupe and cream were used.

● Clear powder frit.

● Light colored opaque powder frit (optional).

Tools & Materials

  • Stainless steel ring or glass dams or equivalent.  
  • 3mm fiber paper.
  • Etching cream.


To make the piece that requires a high temperature melt: 

  • The glass needs to be supported above the kiln shelf and melted through either high temperature nichrome wire 24-20gauge, long bead mandrels or long 304 stainless steel rods.  
  • Large heavy kiln posts or equivalent are needed to support the rods or wires. 
  • Shelf paper.
