LIVE ONLINE ZOOM CLASS, May 30th, JUne 13th, 2026

In this class, students will learn how to create a dimensional fused glass piece that features rich internal depth, soft organic transitions, and a sense of flowing movement. We will explore traditional layer stacking techniques combined with high-temperature firing processes that allow the glass to move and integrate while still preserving distinct internal forms. 

Topics covered include:

• Designing with layers to create depth and internal space.
• Selecting and arranging glass elements for a “floating” effect. 
• Understanding high-temperature firing schedules and full-melt behavior. 
• Managing movement, distortion, and edge control during firing. 
• Finishing considerations for sculptural or vessel forms.

Each student will receive written instructions and a Facebook group will be created for students to ask questions and share their progress. The class will also be recorded and will remain available for 30 days. 

A few days before the class, an email will be sent out with the Zoom link along with class handouts and any other pertinent information. Please keep in mind that using a desktop computer or laptop computer with a camera and microphone is ideal and recommended. 

There are no specialty tools but 3mm fiber paper and either a stainless steel ring or glass dams are required. Access to a lap grinder is a plus but diamond coated hand sanding pads can be used instead. 

This class takes place on May 30th from 1pm-3pm &  June 13th from 2-3:30pm Eastern. The class will be recorded and remain accessible for a minimum of 30 days.

Cancellations will be fully refunded until five days before the class. After that date 50% of the class fee will be refunded. There are no refunds for a missed session or once the class has started.
